President's Day
President's Day is next Monday while we are on February vacation. I wanted to make sure we discussed this topic, however briefly, while in school this week. Today we watched a brief Scholastic video clip about President's Day and then I read aloud the story, "If I Ran for President" by Catherine Stier. Following the story we discussed qualities of a good leader. Then students had to complete an activity to convince others to vote for them for President! Students could choose to make a poster or write a speech. Here is some of their completed work:
