Passport - The British Isles

For two weeks each school year, our school Library is transformed into another country. This year, the Library has transformed into more than one country - The British Isles! For these two weeks students get the wonderful opportunity to visit "the British Isles" and engage in a variety of centers and activities related to the countries. I have posted numerous pictures of our transformed Library and my students!

Students also were able to choose one craft to make related to a country or place in the British Isles - all of which will be a focus of our Passport Open House this coming Monday from 3-5pm! (See choices and examples of these crafts at the bottom of this post.)

Riding the donkey

Making stained glass windows

Shopping at the country store

Learn to draw a sheep

Thatched roof cottage

Air kissing the Blarney Stone

Making tartans

Students got to choose from 5 different crafts to make regarding the British Isles:

  • Celtic Heart Knots
  • Scottish Targes (Shields)

  • Loch Ness Monsters (Nessie)
  • Sheep
  • Stained Glass Windows
