Fire Safety!

At Asa Adams we are so lucky to have a great Fire Department in our town that visits our school each month to teach our students about Fire Safety. Today was our first visit from Firefighter Dennis. He came into our classroom wearing a great big smoke alarm costume to teach us about the importance of having working smoke alarms in our homes. He uses a great combination of humor and truth to engage and teach students at all grade levels. The students were engaged from beginning to end!

Before leaving to visit his next classroom he let us all take a picture with him in his costume! He also gave students homework. They need to find out three things at home:

  1. Do they have smoke detectors?
  2. Where are they located?
  3. What do they sound like?
What a great lesson #1 from Firefighter Dennis! Thank you for teaching our class about fire safety.
